SKILLS
As a senior advisor and co-founder of the UI/UX team (previously also co-lead), I direct a group to develop visual languages for the projects that come out of the ScottyLabs Club Tech division. Together, we produce usable and beautiful campus life tools for all Carnegie Mellon students.

Additionally, I am a part of the larger design team, which works on branding and visual language for the overall organization.

TARTANHACKS 2022-2023: UI/UX
For Pittsburgh's largest hackathon, Susan and I created our first full-scale implemented design, including both an app and a desktop website. The video shows a mock-up of the app, which was later coded by the front-end team.

Walkthrough Duration: 0:59.

PROCESS: TARTANHACKS 2022 UI/UX
As our first large-scale, published app, this was a very large undertaking for Susan and I. We worked synchronously for about a month during a summer to achieve the final app design. It is by no means a perfect app, but it was an excellent trial by fire into UI/UX design.

We are currently updating both the UI/UX for this app, intended to be updated for the 2024 TartanHacks.
BRANDING: TARTANHACKS 2023
For the 2023 hackathon, the design team developed a visual language around the theme "Disruption". This system included a unique logo, merchandise, and promotional graphics.

PROCESS: TH.2023 PROCESS
Learning from the success of last year's working order, we revived the small group of designers to focus on creating or curating the roots of our yearly style. Then, we took a more hands-on approach to developing the assets, splitting our focus-groups into mentors that could assist silos of asset creation.
BRANDING: TARTANHACKS 2022
For the same 2022 hackathon, the design team developed a visual language around the theme "Around the World". This system included a unique logo, merchandise, and promotional graphics.

PROCESS: TH.2022 PROCESS
This process required an initial, pared-down group of designers to solidify the visual language we wanted to pursue before working with a larger team to develop all assets. The main points we wanted to hit on as a focus group were developing an original logo, a general color-way, and selecting typefaces.
